Kim Deal, junto a su hermana gemela Kelley, creó en 1977 The Breeders. Once años más tarde, mientras era bajista de Pixies Kim la revivió: estaba aburrida de ser una protagonista secundaria en una banda que prometía pero nunca llegaba al estrellato. Se tenía fe.
El éxito duró lo que dura un pedo en un envase con muchas fisuras y poco hermético. Pero desde entonces, "Cannonball" es la canción alternatonta de la historia.
